Our Programs

Care packages are delivered to clients and caregivers by our volunteers.

Each package includes essentials such as soup, bread, activity books, and helpful community information. During special occasions, themed gifts donated by community partners may also be included.

At the time of delivery, volunteers complete a wellness check to help identify any additional support that may be needed.

Are you a caregiver in need of support?

We offer telephone support and virtual caregiver groups through Zoom. Contact us to learn how we can help.

Visiting Volunteers provide one on one support and companionship in the community, to our clients of varying age, who live with a life limiting illness.

Our volunteers are fully screened, and accordingly receive online hospice and palliative care training through HPCO. Once trained and certified, our volunteers are then matched up with a client and are ready to visit clients in their homes; whether that be their house, a hospital, or a care facility.

The amount of time dedicated to clients is totally up to the volunteer, and we are able to work with a volunteer’s availability and schedule.

The Tele-Visit program provides support for clients living in rural areas or in care facilities during outbreaks. Through regular phone calls, HPCO-certified volunteers offer psychosocial and emotional support to help improve quality of life and mental well-being.

We use conversation style questions in our Legacy program to help you remember, and document those special memories for your family. You choose the memories you want to reflect upon to create your legacy.

Working together with one of our legacy volunteers, your story will be documented safely and securely, keeping personal information confidential. The only cost to you is the time you dedicate in compiling your story.

At the completion of our Legacy program you will receive a free black and white copy of your Legacy book consisting of the stories you have shared, and approximately 20 of your favourite photos. Additional copies (colour copies available) can be purchased.
